Giving Emphasis On Dental Check Ups To Prevent Gum Infection

Dental patients coming to the dental office may present their dental pockets between the teeth and gums which measures 4 to 5 mm deep, which signifies the beginnings of gum infection or periodontal disease. These dental pockets bleed when the dental hygienist probes them. With this situation, these patients have actually begun to lose the bone between their teeth. Allowing this to continue, the loss of bone will progress overtime until the bones or connective tissues that support the teeth has been undermined. Tooth loss is the major consequence that will be faced by a dental patient if no solution is given emphasis. Regular dental appointments for check ups and cleanings should be given emphasis as they help avoid plaque build up that causes tooth decay, cavities, gum disease and the development of periodontal pockets.
